The University of Teacher Education in Special Needs would like to welcome you to our website. The protection of your personal data is important to us. In this Privacy Statement, we explain what data is collected and processed when you visit our website.
The relevant legal principles can be found here.
Definition of Personal Data
Section 3 of the Information and Data Protection Act of the Canton of Zurich (IDHG ZH) defines personal data as information relating to an identified or identifiable person (e.g. name, address, telephone number, email or IP address).
When you visit the website, personal data is automatically collected. The data collected includes, in particular, the IP address, information on the device, browser or operating system used and the internet provider. Also collected are the date and time of the visit, pages and content accessed, functions used, the referring website, location information, language and country settings. We use the data collected to improve our services and web content.
Storage of Data
The University of Teacher Education in Special Needs will process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary in order to fulfil legal or contractual obligations or for operational reasons. Data can be stored for operational reasons beyond the legal retention periods if a legitimate business interest makes this necessary. Data that no longer needs to be stored is deleted, anonymized or archived.
Data subjects may at any time request the erasure or rectification of personal data concerning the data subject (see 12.)
Security of the Data
The University of Teacher Education in Special Needs takes the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect the data in accordance with the current state of technology and the applicable legal requirements.
The data collected automatically when visiting the website is only disclosed to third parties if there are legal requirements (e.g. court orders) or if disclosure is necessary for legal or criminal proceedings (e.g. in the case of attacks on the university network infrastructure).
In addition, data can be processed by external service providers such as "Google Analytics" (see 8.) Where this is the case, the University of Teacher Education in Special Needs ensures that the commissioned service providers comply with data protection regulations.
To improve our services, we use "Google Analytics" web analysis services on our website.
Your IP address is anonymized by the Google Analytics function "_anonymizeIp()" to protect your privacy. The function changes the last octet of your IP address, which only allows a rough geographical localization.
If you want to completely prevent Google Analytics from collecting data, you can either prevent the installation of cookies (see 7.) or load an opt-out cookie onto your computer. This cookie prevents Google Analytics from collecting data on further visits. See here.

The website only contains links to the offers of the corresponding third-party providers. Please note that the University of Teacher Education in Special Needs is not responsible for compliance with data privacy regulations by social media providers.
